THE VOICE BASELINE EXPERIMENT

A voice can change.
See how.

Establish a baseline. Ask a question. Explore the difference.

A voice experiment, not proof of a lie. Voice changes can reflect nerves, mood, or microphone position. This app cannot determine truthfulness or give a valid deception confidence.

THIS SESSION
A reference point comes first.

Complete the baseline to compare an answer with the subject’s usual voice.

AWAITING BASELINE
How the comparison works

We compare the median loudness, spectral center, spectral flatness, and zero-crossing rate of sound above a fixed voice-level threshold. Differences are scaled by the variation between the five baseline answers, with minimum tolerances. The deviation index is a descriptive heuristic, not a probability or a validated lie detector. The voice gate may include background noise. Answers need at least 0.3 seconds of detected voice. Samples under one second are marked limited; longer answers provide more stable comparisons. Recording quality reflects duration, signal level, and clipping, not confidence in truthfulness. Keep the room, microphone distance, and speaking style consistent. Use only with the subject’s consent.
